The new smart Homepage appears once logged into Cometa and may differ depending on the user profile.
Depending on the current user profile, the homepage may contain:
- a summary in a calendar format of the worked hours filled in by the user for the current month
- the activities that are assigned to the user, in Kanban format (arranged in lists, based on the state of each activity)
- one news in evidence
- a list of useful links
- a list of custom links
- the announcements/news published by the company
- instructions for the download of the mobile app
Calendar timesheet: it shows a summary of the timesheet filled in by the user for the current month, and allows to browse the ones saved for the previous months.
My Activities: this section shows all the activities assigned to the user and helps to manage their workflow, by dragging and dropping the various activity items between the available columns. Moving an item from one column to another will automatically update the state of the related activity.
- Activities in progress: the activities that currently are in "Working" state
- Open activities: the activities that have been assigned to the user, or that the user has autonomously created and assigned to himself, and that still have to be taken over
- Suspended activities: activities that are in a standby state, mainly because of missing information/feedback that must be provided by others
- Resolved activities: activities done and concluded, waiting for the customer (or the customer contact person that has requested the activity) to evaluate them. Usually the customer or the customer contact person is the user that is supposed to change the state of the activity to Close, thus letting it out of the dashboard.
The "head of project" users, set from within the projects, can also see, underneath the list of their own activities, similar lists for the activities that are assigned to the members of their team.
Announcements: this section contains internal announcements or news concerning various activities.
Useful Links: the administrator of Cometa may save external links (to other applications or web pages) to be shown to all users within the homepage. For example, a link to the local intranet or to the company webmail, and so on.
Custom links: if the user profile has the necessary permissions, a list of useful links may also be added and will then always be available in one's own homepage.
Cometa mobile app: besides, on the homepage a link is provided to download the Cometa mobile app. To access Cometa and all its functionalities from mobile devices too, just download the app from the Google Play Store for Android, or the Apple Store for iPhone. Once installed, the same credentials (username and password) that have been used for the web application are valid to authenticate in the mobile app. In the field "Cometa ID" insert the instance ID of the current installation of Cometa. The "Cometa ID" is the code of the instance of Cometa that you wish to connect to and is displayed in the web version of the home page (see image). If a user is working for different companies that have several instances of Cometa, from the mobile app it is possible to add other "ACCOUNTS" and switch from one login to another without having to provide each time one's credentials (via the upper right icon linking to the user profile). In case of doubt ask your contact person for confirmation about the correct ID value.
